The Munster Magic 10U team started off its season at the Crown Point Early tournament. They were the second cede going into Sunday. They took a victory over the Highland team on Sunday morning, but lost to the Molnar Tile team. They place third in this tournament.
June 6 - 8, Hidden Lake, Merrillville
The Michigan City 10U tournament was cancelled so the team had to wait until the Hidden Lake Classic on June 6th to compete. After two wins and two losses combined on Friday and Saturday, the team was seded fifth among the nine teams. This was a single elimination tournament so the Magic was forced to play the fourth sede, St. John Cobras to move on. After a tough few innings the Magic rallied in the fifth inning, but it wasn’t enough to catch up.
June 27 - 29, B-Blast, NW IN
The 10U Magic participated in the B-Blast Tournament on June 27th.
July 18 - 20, UGSI, NW IN
Munster Magic finished 2nd in the UGSI tournament on July 12th and 13th. Ten teams competed in the 10u division. All games were played in Griffith. The Magic defeated the Lowell and North Lincoln teams and also defeated the Portage team twice. They played three international tie-breaker innings with the Harris Heat but suffered a loss, 6-5 on their first meeting. The second time playing the Heat they were defeated 2-0 in seven innings.
The Magic also qualified for and played in the World Series in Shaumburg, IL on July 20th through the 25th!
It was an exciting and fun year for all the players. Can't wait 'till 2004 !!
